FAQ & Visitor Policy

Carroll Hall is a private event space, made available to the community during our in-house events and our private parties.

Event FAQs

  • There is limited street parking in the surrounding area so we encourage using public transportation or car service.

  • The address is 2 Vandervoort Place, Brooklyn, NY 11237. The entrance is located on the corner of Vandervoort Place and Thames Street, one block east of Morgan Avenue.

Carroll Hall is also within close walking distance of the Morgan subway stop on the L train, and the Flushing Ave stop on the J and M trains.

The B60 bus stops at Morgan & Thames which is on the same block as Carroll Hall. There is another bus two blocks away- the B57 at the Flushing and Wilson Ave stop.

  • Carroll Hall carries its own liquor license and so our bar packages are exclusive.

  • Carroll Hall has preferred vendors but you are welcome to bring in your own. New vendors must sign a contract with Carroll Hall and carry their own insurance.

  • There is a kitchen prep area but not a full commercial kitchen. The kitchen prep area includes a sink, large commercial fridge, dishwasher, counter tops for prep, and an ice-machine. All of this is available to you.

  • Unfortunately, we cannot extend event times beyond the rental agreement. Your event must end by midnight.

  • All amplified music in the garden must end by 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights, 9pm all other nights. We recommend that you have your dance party in the Warehouse. Where Monday is a holiday, Saturday restrictions apply to Sunday.

  • We strongly recommend you tent the garden for your event. This will not only keep you dry if it rains but will also keep you from baking on hot days! The cost for tenting is not included in the rental price and you must use our exclusive vendor.

  • Yes, you are required to have a professional day-of coordinator or a professional wedding planner who is onsite for your event. Carroll Hall does not provide a day-of coordinator. Our staff helps coordinate with vendors and oversee venue operations during your event.

  • We cannot accommodate you the day before your wedding, however, because you will have the space from 9am to 1am the following morning and all events are required to begin after 1pm, you may use the space in the morning to rehearse for the wedding.

  • In order to preserve and protect the space for future use, we have specific guidelines around decorating that are laid out clearly in the rental agreement. We review these with you at the time of booking and will go over any questions you might have.

  • The rental contract goes into full detail but generally we require clearing and storing all trash, removing all decorations, putting tables and chairs back, ensuring that your vendors have taken everything with them, and that you leave Carroll Hall broom clean.

  • For fire regulations set by the fire department, we cannot allow flame candles but electric and battery-operated candles are permitted.
