A Palaver Strings Massivemuse: Ready or Not Revisited
Ready or Not Revisited celebrates the groundbreaking visions of women, queer, trans, and nonbinary composers from the medieval period to the present day. This program builds on the concept of Palaver’s 2022 album Ready or Not, which “blew the tent flap open to embrace new contemporary classical fans” (Midwest Record) and left BBC Music Magazine “wanting more.” Repertoire includes wide-ranging selections by Jessie Montgomery, Hildegard von Bingen, inti figgis-vizueta, Tanner Porter, Sato Matsui, Leilehua Lanzilotti, Pétalo Seslar and Lili Boulanger. Ready or Not Revisited disrupts our expectations, challenges our narratives, and uplifts a multitude of voices who have always been here, whether the concert hall was ready or not.
Cash bar will be available. Doors open at 7:30pm.
HIVEWILD: with your sweet fragrance: the wall
with your sweet fragrance: the wall
Wednesday, November 13 and Thursday, November 14
Doors: 6:45pm with cash bar
Performance: 7pm
Please note--- there is no late seating. If you have not checked in by 7pm, your seat will be given to someone on the waitlist.
Please join Katherine Maxwell and the Hivewild team as we share a preview of our latest choreographic work, with your sweet fragrance. Following the performance, there will be a panel discussion of the work in progress.
with your sweet fragrance is a new live work that examines the forces of climate inequity: deforestation, habitat destruction, and rising sea levels. The project will utilize elements of dance, photography, film projection, set design, and sound design to create a full-length dance theater work. The goal of with your sweet fragrance is to facilitate a visceral and tender experience that leads to a deeper awareness of humanity’s role within the climate crisis and activation towards both individual and collective climate reparations.
